About
Thirteen Years dissects the unspoken truths haunting school halls and the women who journey through them. A tender expression of the personal as political which acknowledges the importance of hearing everyone with a story, and the power in telling it yourself.
Shedding light on the secrets hidden behind the badge of school honour,
Thirteen Years highlights unspoken and taboo issues that arise in the early stages of schooling and how it affects women for the remainder of their lives. Performers lay bare their own feelings and experiences, connecting with the audience through vulnerability to create a sense of belonging.
In creating this all female production, BKB hope to empower others and pave the way for them to share their story with the world.
