Laura Hague is a Brisbane-based emerging puppeteer, performer, director and theatre-maker, having recently graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Drama with a minor in Scenography) at QUT. Inspired by the strong visual style created by artists including Michel Gondry and Ariane Mnouchkine, Laura’s personal practice embraces the “daggy” home-made aesthetic through experimenting with visually appealing stage imagery, form and the absurd. Furthermore, she is interested in scenography and maintaining a strong focus and emphasis on the collaboration of various art forms and practices within her work. Her most recent endeavours include Of Little Matter (Performer: Vena Cava Productions, 2012), Capillaries and Arteries Festival (Producer: Vena Cava 2013) Argus (Puppeteer: Dead Puppet Society, 2013), Alopecia: The Other Caucasian Chalk Circle (Director/Devisor: QUT, 2013) and Pre-Drinks (Assistant Director: Rocket Boy Ensemble, 2014). Laura will continue to further develop her personal practice as a theatre-maker as she enters the next few years in the industry.
