Kate Lee is an independent performer, theatre facilitator and producer based in Brisbane. Kate first began performing at Sydney’s New Theatre in 2002. She has a BA in Applied Theatre (Hons), has studied the Meisner Technique and since 2007 has been training in the Frank/Suzuki Acting Method. She has performed in a variety of theatre forms including text based plays, dance theatre, devised performance and has created her own work. In 2009 she performed with OzFrank in The Reckoning of Badengood at Suzuki’s Summer Festival and at QPAC in Up Jumped the Devil. Kate has performed at the Ensemble Studios Theatre in New York and with the Lotos Collective in London. Recent performances include Journey with Connect2 Productions, The Healing Circle for Brisbane’s Short+Sweet, and Hotel Mysterioso with OzFrank. In 2009 she formed ExperimentONE with her directorial debut, Flicking the Flint (Metro Arts’ Season of the Independents 2009). Kate has also worked with diverse community groups including seniors, people with disabilities, youth in remote Australia and students in primary and high schools.
