Lean Towards Indifference aims to investigate humour in local art practices. The show will investigate humour as the result of playful making strategies and as a method for the complication of the role of the contemporary artist. Humour in art manifests itself in a diversity of ways and it can often be difficult to articulate the effect that it has as a strategy for engaging with ideas and with the viewer. In this show, we plan to exhibit the work of eight local artists whose work highlights both the subtle and overt spaces that humour can inhabit.
