Thomas Hutchins is an actor and director who graduated from Southbank Institute of Technology. Since 2012, he has created new chamber works with musician Michael Whittred including Leftovers from a Dream (FAST, 2012 and 2high Festival, 2012), Play Dead (2high Festival 2013) and Dust Covered Butterfly (MetroArts, 2015 and FAST, 2013). Thomas and Michael draw upon the memory and imagination of their collaborators and sources to attack real and fictitious stories with original music, experimental form and text. The live songs performed within each work step away from the existing narrative and flesh out particular moments in other theatrical worlds providing audience members with a feast of alternate readings. As an actor, Thomas has performed in The Seagull (Now Look Here, 2015), Yokastas Redux (Awkward Conversation, 2014), Hedonism’s Second Album (La Boite Indie, 2014), The Wizard of Oz (Brisbane Festival, 2013), Sons of Sin (The Danger Ensemble, 2013), As You Like It (La Boite, 2012), and Loco Maricon Amor (Metro Arts, 2012).
