The knowledge that I have about my Yawuru-Phillippino-English family and our history, is deeply embedded in my mind. Although I am not always thinking of this, I often see a piece of pre-configured technology that I could combine with other technologies and natural materials to create new languages or descriptors to address and expose. What I choose to address and expose are the continually present denials, cover ups and consequences of Australia’s colonialism.
I see my work as having potential to create new sentences that connect logical, computer-based languages and technologies with my more visceral responses to illogical colonialist practices.
I wish to create mechanical devices to speak about history.
